ITF Forum - Community Code of Conduct


The following guidelines and rules explain what is expected of you and other community members. The guidelines are not exhaustive, and as such the forum administrators and moderators shall have discretion to address any behavior that may be deemed inappropriate for these forums.

 

ITF reserves the right to suspend access to these forums at any time for any reason not limited to failure to abide by these guidelines.

 

Repeated violations of any of the guidelines will result in permanent suspension from the forums.

These policies are not language-restrictive. Posts will always be subject to the penalties listed, whether it is in English, Filipino, or any other language.

 

It is the responsibility of the users of these forums to be aware of these guidelines. Failure to be so informed does not release, nor excuse, them from coverage of these guidelines.

 

 

I. Naming Rules

The following are considered inappropriate for your Forum names, Character names, or Guild names:

  • Indecent Sexual Acts
  • Inappropriate reference to human, animal, or alien anatomy or bodily functions
    ex. Crappingman, Robopisser, Elfboobs
  • National, Religious, Racial or Ethnic Insult/Ridicule/Negative Sentiment
    ex. Ussucks, Blackmankiller
  • Insults referring to other characters, groups or ITF itself
  • Based on major religious figures or religions
    ex. Jesus Christ, Islam, Buddah
  • Illegal drugs or activities
    ex. Shabu, Daterape, Whoringallnight, Gangbangbaby
  • Any businesses, organizations, web-sites, e-mail or contact numbers
    ex. Loseweight970337568, wwwdotdiscountsdotcom, Drinkcocacola
  • Trademark/licensed by a company or individual
    ex. KFC, Jollibee
  • Moderators from ITF.
  • Any other names that ITF deems as inappropriate for the forum.

Penalty: Forum account deletion (for validating members)

 

 



II. Distribution of Real-Life Personal Information

This refers to releasing any real-life information about other members or ITF staff/administrators/moderators without express permission are considered as violations to a person’s privacy. Examples of this would be releasing email, phone numbers, online community accounts (Friendster, etc.).

Penalty: Minimum of 1 count, maximum of 3 depending on severity

 

 

 

III. Inappropriate Content

Inappropriate content covers a wide range of lesser offenses. This offense covers statements, clear or masked, that display actions that are generally deemed as inappropriate for discussion in forums that may have young readers. This includes, and is not limited to, the following:

 

A.      Racial/Ethnic Hatred

This refers to posts containing languages, images and/or links to websites that promote racial and ethnic hatred, recognized as a racial/ethnic slur, or allude to a symbol of racial/ethnic hatred.

B. Extreme Sexuality/Violence


This refers to posts containing images, languages, and/or links to websites that refers to extreme and/or violent sexual acts and extremely violent real life situations.

C. Sexual Orientation

This refers to posts containing language, and/or links to websites containing language or images that insultingly refer to any aspect of sexual orientation pertaining to themselves or other members.

D. Obscene/Vulgar

This refers to posts containing images, and/or links to websites that inappropriately refer to human anatomy or bodily functions, or are mature/pornographic in nature.

E. Religions or Religious Figures

This refers to posts containing language, images, and/or links to websites that negatively portray recognized religions or religious figures.

F. National Hatred

This refers to posts containing language, images, and/or links to websites that promote national hatred, are recognized as national slurs, or allude to symbols of national hatred.

G. Illegal Drugs or Activities

This refers to posts containing language, images, and/or links to websites promote the use of illegal drugs, or performing illegal activities.

 

H. Website Promotion

 

This refers to posts containing links to promote other websites.  You may however promote your websites by placing links in your signature.

 

 

 

Penalty: Minimum of 2 counts, maximum of 3 counts depending on severity

 

 

 

 

IV. Real Life Threats or Malingering

This refers to posts, and/or links that threaten to do harm to other users in real life (a form of logical fallacy), as well as the propagation of unconfirmed rumors about a person/group of person’s alleged actions.

Penalty: Minimum of 1 count, maximum of 3 counts depending on severity

 

 

 

V. Harassment or Defamation

This includes posts with clear and masked language, and/or links to websites containing language or images that insultingly refer to other characters, members and/or groups of people.

Harassment takes many forms, and is not necessarily limited to the type of language used, but the intent.

Penalty: Minimum of 1 count, maximum of 2 counts depending on severity

 

 

 

VI. Flaming and Flame-baiting

Flaming and flame-baiting constitute the hostile act of an individual towards other users. This includes and is not limited to posts that:

  • are non-constructive in nature
  • elicit other users to react in a negative manner
  • attack the other users (ad hominem attacks)

Persons who are repeatedly caught committing the said offense shall be candidates for permanent blocking of forum access.

Penalty: 1 offense count

 

 

VII. Spamming

Spamming refers to posting comments unrelated to the topic under discussion, posting pointless responses (such as a simple emoticon or a one-liner), repeated posting of the same topic across the forums, and posting outside of the appropriate section.

Penalty: Minimum 2-day post suspension, maximum of 3 offense counts depending on severity

 

 

 

VIII. Discussing Disciplinary Actions

This includes posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a member, as well as including chat logs and email correspondence between a member and a ITF Forum Moderator and/or Administrator

Penalty: 3-day post suspension

 

 

 

IX. Misuse of Font Size/Capital Letters

This pertains to the excessive use of capital letters and overly sized fonts for posts that occupies a large section of the thread unnecessarily.

Penalty: 1-day post suspension

 

 

 

X. User Posted Images

This section covers all guidelines regarding the use of user posted images, including forum signatures, personal photos, and forum avatars. This rule was created in order to allow users with lower bandwidths access to the forums without the large images bogging them down. Furthermore, repeat offenders of the following guidelines will be subject to harsher sanctions.


A. Forum Signatures

Forum signatures should follow the format below:

Image signatures should not exceed 500 X 150 Pixels nor be larger than 100 KB in size.
Pure text or combined text and image signatures should not exceed the vertical
boundary of this image, which is 150 pixels. In no instance should images in
combined text and image signatures exceed 500 pixels in width or 100 KB in size

 

 

B.     Forum Avatars

Forum avatars are allowed to have a maximum file size of 100 Kb. Forum avatars are also subject to the other rules found in the Code of Conduct; therefore, forum avatars that violate sections concerning vulgarity, etc. will be imposed on the user instead. Forum avatars that are found to have violated this guideline will be removed with or without warning by the forum moderators.

Please note that users who upload images that contain violations of Section III (Inappropriate Content) will be sanctioned with the penalty that applies to the corresponding content.

Penalty: Warning PM (incrementing sanction)

Post Suspension = Cannot post, but can browse the forums
3rd post suspension = 1 Offense Count

1 Offense Count = 7-day suspension
2 Offense Counts = 14-day suspension
3 Offense Counts = Permanent suspension

(Moderators reserve the right to skip to account deletion if the offense in question is deemed a deliberate and/or serious violation of the rules.)
